History
We would like to share with you an overview of Jesus' Right Hand from its foundation more than 25 years ago.
It was February 26, 1986 during the farm crisis that God called us to open Jesus' Right Hand in New Virginia, Iowa. With the help of a committee of individuals and a very special man who made it possible for us to go into a building rent free, we began giving forth in Jesus’ name. We gave food, clothes and spiritual encouragement to those in need. We incorporated on April 18, 1986. It was through the guidance of others that we learned how to operate properly as a non-profit organization.
Through much prayer and meditation we sought God and learned He wanted this to be a faith ministry. We were sure we knew what that meant. However, as we continued to grow and learn, we discovered being a faith-based ministry means a lot more than we first thought.
In October of 1990 we opened a second Jesus' Right Hand Center in Ames, Iowa. This center continued to operate until 2005 when we closed it to focus our energies on our New Virginia location.
We have helped many since our opening in 1986. The help may have been in the form of food, clothes, spiritual guidance or assistance in making Jesus Christ the Lord of their life.
